A word from the Board

Welcome to the new-look PDA News – the newsletter for Participatory Development Alternatives. PDA has been working in Ebonyi State now for over 15 years, impacting nearly four hundred thousand to about a million lives (directly and indirectly) across the state. With the COVID-19 pandemic eating away at the fabric of lives – especially the poor, and Ebonyi State categorized as the fourth poorest state in Nigeria, the work of PDA – supporting women, youth, the poor and vulnerable and pressing for good governance – has never been more needed.

We are launching into a new era of effort, with a host of programs planned to reach the most vulnerable and needy and a desire to work increasingly to hold our government – both nationally as well as in the state and LGAs – accountable.

This is the first of a new wave of communication as PDA rejuvenates itself, reaching out to new communities, entering into new partnerships, and beginning to engage seriously through new media forms to increase the impact and voice of those with and for whom we work.

Our first edition focuses on the impacts of COVID-19 on the communities we work with and the work we do. We hope you enjoy this update – with a revamped team, it will now be regular. We also hope you find ways to provide support to us.
