Technology for Transformative Development- TTD By Chidinma Arukwe, Executive Director

Project with Technology for Transformative Development (TTD) project is the baseline assessment of primary schools in Ebonyi state. The project seeks to improve the primary school education in Ebonyi by providing evidence based on data collected for stakeholder’s advocacy and capacity strengthening for educational policy making in improving services deliveries. The project is being carried out in seven local government areas including abakaliki, afikpo south, Ezza south ikwo, ohaozara and ohaukwu. Participatory development alternatives is in charge of carrying out this baseline Assessment in fifty school in each of these two LGAs which are Ezza south and Ikwo and will be able to carry out this research working with eleven enumerators.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

The overall goal of the project is to improve the primary school services delivery in Ebonyi state. To achieve this board goal, the project will work with stakeholders to achieve three specific results:

Provide information and analysis from the baseline assessment for monitoring progress on basic education services delivery

Strengthen the capacity of stakeholders to use research-based analysis to demand for improved services

Improve the capacity of policymakers to use research results in reforming policies in basic education

 

ACTIVITIES

1: Baseline Assessment

This project will be carried out in fifty schools in each LGAs including rural and urban areas

There will be an inception workshop

Designing of questionnaires (pupils, teachers, headteachers and parent/community)

training of enumerators

2: Empowering Citizens to Demand for Policy Change in Basic Education

Advocacy strategy development and coalition building

Press Conference

3: Dialogue with policy makers

This activity will seek to engage with policy makers at various levels to address some of the issues that arise from the baseline assessment and it will hold a policy dialogue workshop with policy makers
